Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.

Welcome to Cornerstone Community Church!

Our church building was originally built by the Church of the Gentle Shepherd.  They had been formed in 1984 under the leadership of Rev. Walter Kime, and the original building (which is now the Fellowship Hall) was built in the fall of 1989.  As the church expanded, they began work on the large church sanctuary in 1991.  The steeple for this building was lifted onto it in October 1995.

In 1995 Rev. Kime accepted a teaching position at Ashland Seminary, leaving the Church of the Gentle Shepherd.   In August of 1995, the Church of the Gentle Shepherd voted unanimously to unite with Pastor Timothy J. Hull’s church, Pleasant Valley United Brethren Church, to form the Cornerstone Community Church.

Under the leadership of Pastor Timothy J. Hull, the sanctuary was finished, the church grew in numbers and was able to settle the bonds used for the addition of the large sanctuary to the original Church of the Gentle Shepherd building.  Pastor Tim ministered us for 26 years.  Due to health issues in 2021, Pastor Timothy J. Hull retired from leading Cornerstone.

In the fall of 2021, Pastor Chuck Vanasse was called to lead our congregation. After a year of service, he left to pastor a church near his home town in Massachusetts.

Pastor Shane L. Johnson is our current Lead Pastor. He and wife Kathy have been with us since November 2022.
